Strings, Atoms and Elements Tasks

Here are the goals for the four main areas we’re covering in our opening unit o’ studies.

By the end of the unit, you should be able to confidently have a grasp on the following tasks…

History

Describe how atomic theory has changed from Ancient Greece to the 21st century by highlighting some of the leading scientists from the last two thousand five hundred years.

Parts of the Atom

Describe the parts of the atom (their relative size, charge, location) and the particles that make up the atom.

Qualities of the Atom

What is the difference between atomic number and atomic mass? Describe isotopes and how they form.

Experimenting with the Atom

Illustrate, narrate or describe the development of atomic science since the end of WWII up to the present.

    Mr.h all of your eighth graders are boring……only the ninth graders have commented on your stuff……….last year we loved this site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Now that is just lame..but now that I think about it we did have homework almost everyday but we didn’t have it over the weekends!!!!

    Can I get a homework pass!!!!???? Haha jkjkjkjkjk but Avi is right! The 8th graders are terribly boring! u need to hype them up! Bc it will be boring teaching them. Btw every1 is welcome for convincing mr h to save griffin science!!! :) if u can’t tell I’m really bored right now…

    For the record we are NOT that boring. It’s not like we’re potatos or something, gosh! And yes I just compared boring people to potatos. :) Maybe we are boring… We’ll work on it okay?
